Oh my mind went so many places, but we won't go there. My second or maybe it was third thought was of the shot I missed today. I went out to a neighbors yard to shoot flowers and I was all focused on this neat little ladybug on a leaf when the wind blew and it flew away and no amount of editing will ever save the blur that is that shot.
So then I took myself back to childhood and a time when it was easy to feel magical and I remembered the apple tree in the back yard that could magically become any thing and any where we wanted to be at the time. One day the branches would be horses and we were out riding the wild west, the next time it could be a pirate ship on the high seas and we were fighting off black beard. The next day on your own with no one around and you were a princess in an Ivory tower waiting for your Prince to come. Sappy I know but as a child the imagination was free to run.
Today when I was out shooting I found such a tree and it took me back, so how could I resist. It was towards the end of the day and the colors were just right. I did edit it for shadows and blurred the edges a bit for effect but otherwise it is what it is.
ENJOY.

Wow I love this beautiful contrast and faded focus of greens. I also love the many twist and turns of the tree that make inviting to anyone wanting to climb up and hide away for a magical moment of dreaming.
I see a little adjusting here, photo wise, but it adds to the mystiqe and mystery of this magical looking tree. One has to ask how nature spawns such incredible works of art. Great find, good shot, Rita!
Ahhh Rita this is a Magical spot ..even as an old gator id love to climb and just dream sitting in the boughs...excellent shot ..jgh <<< CLICK >>>><<< CLICK >>>

Oh that's so interesting. I LOVE the take on the theme and the effects you've done with the picture. Have a GREAT weekend and mine is up and ready and you're more than welcome to stop by and have a look.
What is fun about PP is I find my personal interest reflected by others here participating through their eyes and lense. Amazing shot! I love and look for old limbs and trees, but have never taken a picture of them. I will have to start!! Great job Rita!
awww... that was definitely a magical tree to bring back those sweet childhood memories. great post ms. naarta. thank you for the touching comment. it was really appreciated. :) http://wanderingdeity.multiply.com/journal/item/326
Trees are truly magical... and our memories that go with them. I am still waiting for the blurry ladybug shot... even blurry shots gives us the magic of motion and how it can be stolen away. So show it anyway, sweet lady. Thanks for visiting mine. http://rumbledoll.multiply.com/journal/item/13/Magical_Theme_-_5108

...we used to have a tree like that when I was a kid. It was a big tree which had fallen and in late spring/summer the ground around was covered in 6 foot high wild rhubarb which doubled as the ocean or a jungle, depending on what game we were playing at the time. my fave was pirates!
I'd be all over that tree in a flash! I must have spent 1/3 of my childhood in trees in our yard and on the farm. This is a beauty! Thanks for bringing back the magic of childhood!
Ohhh, I love those trees that hug the ground! Great shot and story (my kiddo loves a series of books called "The Magic Treehouse".....the kids in the story go all sorts of magical places through their house in the tree!) Thanks for peeking in at my page earlier!
I love this and the funny thing is I was just watching an Elvis special about his career and that tree looks like the way his legs were as he was singing , it is a magical photo !!!
I love it, Rita...and the effects, too. It does bring back memories of childhood fantasies and make believe. I'm sure if you're like me...we chose some pretty tall trees to climb as well. :)
Yes, you really did catch that old childhood magic. I remember playing the same games on the old trees by my grandparents home. http://tinyurl.com/5zfucw
